Sticker Cards
We love stickers! I've used this management reward system for many years now and it has never failed me...and the children love them! Each student has a sticker card with room for 20 stickers. We start with a red card and go through the colors of the rainbow. Students can earn stickers for returning math homework (1 sticker), returning homework packets (3 stickers), decodable lists (1 sticker per decodable practiced), returning reading logs (2 stickers), returning library books on time, and I often offer sticker rewards for good behavior in class and in music and library. It's a great motivator and the students get very excited about earning stickers. When their sticker card is full (20 stickers), they can go to the treasure chest, which is filled with old and new toys, color books, etc. They are then given the next colored sticker card.
Consequences
Students need to return daily math homework each day. If students don't return work the next day, they do not earn a sticker. If this continues, the student will be benched during the morning recess and allowed to finish the homework during that time.
Tutoring
We will be starting the tutoring session in a few weeks. I am in the process of assessing needs and evaluating the results.
